On behalf of the International League of Peoples' Struggle and on my personal
account as an Ilocano, I convey warmest greetings of solidarity to all officers,
members and supporters of Solidarity of Peasants Against Exploitation
(STOP-EX)-Alyansa/Organisasyon ng Magbubukid ng Ilocos on the occasion
of its 25th founding anniversary and general congress.
I congratulate you for all your accumulated and recent achievements in efforts
to arouse, organize and mobilize the peasant masses in the Ilocos region for the
purpose of upholding their democratic rights, achieving genuine land reform and
improving their lives in an all-rounded way. I am happy to join you in celebrating
the achievements. I am eager to read the first issue of your official publication
which chronicles your achievements and reports on the issues and activities of
the peasant masses in the Ilocos region.
I hope that your congress will open the way to a new and higher level of
achievements by summing up and analyzing your experience, drawing lessons
from both positive and negative experiences and setting forth the tasks and
methods for advancing. May you score greater victories in your service to the
peasants masses of the Ilocos region in their struggle for national freedom,
democracy, social justice, development and just peace.
Long live STOP-EX!
Long live the peasant masses of the Ilocos region!
Long live the Filipino people!
